As I recline in a lawn chair, the sun is shining brightly on my face and the wind is gently blowing across my skin.  I am sitting on the back porch of our new (unfinished) log home on a perfect Thanksgiving Day in 2008.

Dennis is beside me in his lawn chair recliner soaking up the sun with  Mikey (chihuahua) taking a nap on his lap.  Lexie (chihuahua) is resting on my lap.

This is the most peaceful moment I have experienced in a long time.  Tears roll down my cheeks with Gratitude.

We had a local grocery store cook Thanksgiving dinner for us – turkey, dressing, broccoli casserole and gravy – and took it with us for a picnic at our house.  We bought a sisal rug we will be using somewhere in the house, so we had our picnic on the rug.  We took our lawn chairs and a small folding table and set it up on the rug in the living room.

Dennis even bought two little heaters in case it was cold; however, it turned out to be about 60 degrees so it was very pleasant.

This is our first Thanksgiving at our new home even though it is not finished.  I wrote more words of Gratitude on the unfinished floors and shower walls in the house – “Thank You,” “Love,” “Joy,” and I always write my son’s name (who passed over 5 years ago) “Brian Michael.”

Dennis and I are so very grateful to be living our dream and watching our new log home being built and we are soooooooo excited about moving in soon… still several weeks away.

Then on Friday we drove an hour and a half to visit my parents and my sister and we all went out together to celebrate Thanksgiving also.  We giggled and had a wonderful time!

We hope your Thanksgiving was joyful too.

Many blessings for your prosperity and well being.
